Graduate Learning Mentor
 
Can you help students with Autism and ADHD manage the school day with more confidence, structure and independence? Are you a graduate looking to build valuable SEN experience before progressing into psychology, teaching or specialist education?

*** £85 - £101 per day
*** Secondary school based in Wednesbury
*** 1:1 and small-group support for SEN students with Autism and ADHD
 
The Role:
As a Graduate Learning Mentor, you will provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with Autism and ADHD. You will help students follow routines, understand lesson instructions, break tasks into manageable steps and stay focused during learning. You will also support pupils with organisation, transitions between lessons, emotional regulation and positive behaviour choices throughout the school day.
 
The Candidate:
This role will suit a patient, resilient and emotionally intelligent graduate who wants to make a real difference to students with additional needs. You should be able to provide calm reassurance, use clear communication and adapt your approach when students feel overwhelmed, distracted or anxious. This is a strong opportunity for someone considering educational psychology, clinical psychology, SEN or teaching.
 
Requirements
  • 2:2 degree or above in Psychology, Education, Childhood Studies, Criminology or a related subject.
    • A genuine interest in supporting students with Autism, ADHD, communication needs and emotional regulation.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to give clear, structured guidance.
    • The ability to support focus, routines, organisation and positive engagement in lessons.
    • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
 
The School:
This secondary school in Wednesbury is looking for a Graduate Learning Mentor who can provide structured SEN support to students with Autism and ADHD. You will work closely with teaching and SEN staff to help pupils manage routines, access learning, build confidence and develop greater independence in school.
