The Role: Support KS2 pupils through 1:1 work, small-group intervention, and general classroom support. You will reinforce learning in English, Maths, and wider curriculum subjects, help pupils stay focused, prepare resources, and give clear feedback to teachers on progress. Teaching assistants commonly support teachers in the classroom and help children with reading, writing, and learning activities.
The Candidate: You are organised, approachable, and able to explain ideas clearly to primary-aged pupils. You want to build meaningful school-based experience, work closely with teaching staff, and play a useful role in helping children improve confidence, engagement, and attainment across KS2.
Requirements- Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
- Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
- Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
- Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Career Goals – A desire to train as a teacher or pursue a career in educational or clinical psychology.
