SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant
 
Are you a recent psychology graduate who is looking to gain experience of supporting SEN pupils in order to establish a career involving the support of young people?

*** September 2024- July 2025
*** 1:1 and small group support for SEN pupils in the inclusion unit.
*** ‘Good’ school with excellent provisions for SEN pupils.
 
The Graduate:
  • At least a 2:1 bachelor’s degree in psychology, or a related field.
  • An empathetic, caring nature.
  • Genuine passion for the education of young SEN pupils.
  • Commitment to following safeguarding procedures to keep pupils safe.
  • Previous experience of working with pupils, additional support needs, or in a school setting is preferable.
 
The Role:
  • Providing 1-2-1 and small group support to SEN pupils to improve their wellbeing and achievement levels.
  • Working closely with teaching staff to plan and deliver stimulating lessons that are adapted to suit the individual needs of each pupil.
  • Aiding the development of pupils’ basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Assisting in the coordination of extra-curricular activities to extend pupils’ passion for education beyond the classroom.
