The Role:
As a Graphics ECT, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students in the dynamic field of graphics design. Working alongside a dedicated team of professionals, you will contribute to the delivery of the Graphics curriculum at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 level. The school's graphics department comprises three experienced Graphics Teachers, all of whom started their journey as ECTs. This collaborative environment ensures that new members of the team receive exceptional support and guidance as they begin their teaching career.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering high-quality graphics lessons that are engaging, creative, and tailored to the needs of individual students.
  • Planning and preparing resources, schemes of work, and assessments in line with the Graphics curriculum.
  • Differentiating instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Providing timely and constructive feedback to students to support their progress and development.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Participating in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school-wide events as required.
 
Support and Induction:

The Graphics Curriculum:
At Key Stage 3, students explore the fundamentals of graphics design, including basic principles of visual communication, digital imaging techniques, and design software skills. They have the opportunity to develop their creativity and problem-solving abilities through a range of practical projects and activities. At Key Stage 4, students build upon their foundational knowledge and skills to explore more advanced topics such as typography, branding, advertising, and packaging design. They work towards achieving nationally recognized qualifications, empowering them to pursue further study or employment opportunities in the field of graphics design.
