A secondary school in Wednesbury requires a committed SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant to offer 1:1 support to children with autism and ADHD. This role is crucial in helping students surmount educational challenges and realise their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to students with autism and ADHD, addressing their specific educational needs.
- Assist in the execution of personalised learning plans and strategies.
- Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment to encourage student engagement and participation.
- Collaborate with teachers and SEN coordinators to monitor and track student progress.
- Modify teaching methods and materials to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Offer emotional and behavioural support to help students manage their challenges and succeed academically.
- Communicate consistently with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and well-being.
Requirements:
- A recent graduate with a strong academic background.
- A keen interest in supporting children with special educational needs, particularly autism and ADHD.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students.
- Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the varying needs of students.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
