A secondary school in Wednesbury requires a committed SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant to offer 1:1 support to children with autism and ADHD. This role is crucial in helping students surmount educational challenges and realise their full potential.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised support to students with autism and ADHD, addressing their specific educational needs.
  • Assist in the execution of personalised learning plans and strategies.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment to encourage student engagement and participation.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SEN coordinators to monitor and track student progress.
  • Modify teaching methods and materials to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Offer emotional and behavioural support to help students manage their challenges and succeed academically.
  • Communicate consistently with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and well-being.
 
Requirements:
  • A recent graduate with a strong academic background.
  • A keen interest in supporting children with special educational needs, particularly autism and ADHD.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the varying needs of students.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
